Plague of Flies (Cartoon 29)

This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so they may worship me. If you do not let my people go, I will send swarms of flies on you and your officials, on your people and into your houses. The houses of the Egyptians will be full of flies, and even the ground where they are. Exodus 8:20b-21

In my home fly season is always open. In fact there is a standing 5 cent bounty for every dead one. They are a nuisance. We are told that during the fourth plague the houses of the Egyptians were full of flies, but no flies were found in the land of Goshen where the Israelites lived. The Egyptian people were miserable. Pharoah relented, but before the Israelites could leave he once again hardened his heart. It might seem amazing that pharoah could be so stubborn. But sometimes we are just like pharoah by stubbornly clinging to sins that we know are making our life miserable.
