Good News and Bad News (Cartoon 27)

So he (Joseph) asked Pharoah's officials who were in custody with him in his master's house, "Why are your faces so sad today?" "We both had dreams," they answered, "but there is no one to interpret them." Then Joseph said to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams." Genesis 40:7-8

Bad news makes the Good News great. Not every message from the mouth of God is necessarily up-lifting and encouraging. In fact, you can't hear the Good News until you've heard the bad news first. The bad news is that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Simply put, our own willful sinfulness has separated us from our loving creator. The Good News is that God sent His son into the world to die for our sins. We can be forgiven. The bad news makes the Good News great.
